I have recently signed up for Write Mentor Sparks set up and run by the amazing Stuart White.  It's a great opportunity to have a mentor guide you on your writing path along with regular themes such as Pitching, Planning and Plotting, Openings and Hooks.  There will be industry experts offering their advice and also agents who will be taking pitches.  All excellent stuff!

There is also a regular writers' retreat from the comfort of your own home.  No packing, no travelling, no asking neighbours to feed the cat.  Perfect!  Note to self - stock up on coffee and biscuits on these days.

I have been writing for a number of years now and had two agents but have still to get that elusive publishing deal.  I have leaned a lot from attending the Winchester Writers' Festival where I had one to one appointments with agents and made some wonderful 'writer' friends.  Also the Twitter writing community has been a godsend in times of writerly angst and excitement.  I have made some of the best supportive on-line friendships on there.

But now it's time to take another step towards reaching my dream - a writing mentor.  Just a couple of days to go until it all kicks off and I can't wait to strap on my walking boots and get strutting my writerly stuff further along that path to my goal!

I will keep you posted.
